There were big celebrations on December 1st as Jet2.com celebrated the take off of the year’s first Christmas shopping flight to New York from Newcastle Airport.
Customers from the North East checking in for the first of two special direct Christmas shopping flights to the iconic US city were treated to an American-style send off from the winter wonderland-dressed check in desk. Along with specially created ‘I Love New York’ bags for every passenger Jet2.com gave excited customers the red carpet treatment serenading them with famous New York songs and treating them with bucks fizz and pretzels.
The leading leisure airline celebrated its sixth year at the airport just a few weeks ago and has already increased its presence this year with the addition of an extra aircraft and a host of new city and sun destinations including Alicante, Faro, Krakow, Prague, Toulouse and Dubrovnik.
